Hey Vast! I liked it Dude! Sounded like a decent improvisation and quick fingers. What the heck was the sound at the 53 second mark? I couldn't figure that one out. I have a real problem trying to be creative and invent solos, I'm not at that level yet. Good work Bro!

The sound was from a chair being dragged against concrete floor. :D Thanks for the comment bro!

I thought it was alright, but no direction. I think you could work on playing with backing tracks, or better yet, people. But just listen to the music you like and try playing it.

+1 on the no direction. I just played what came to mind at that point. What about the tone? Does it sound alright?

Here you go guys:

SoundClick artist: vasthorizon - page with MP3 music downloads

Please tell me what you think of it. I know it sucks but please bear with me. I've picked up electric guitar for 8 months now but I have been playing classical/acoustic since I was a 10. I have no prior formal lessons whatsoever. I just play by ear and with some knowledge I gained through the internet.

I would accept both negative and positive feedbacks. Please tell me what you think of my technique, tone, phrasing, etc.

Please keep in mind that I recorded this with no proper preparation whatsoever. I just played what came to mind.

Like everyone in this forum, I would like to improve and develop as a musician.

Thanks

I know it gets boring when you listen to it for more than a couple of times because I love doing that upward hammer-on, pull-off thing going up the board... Sorry...

A stock $100 Squire strat and the Marshall AVT 150 watt half-stack. Clean channel on the amp. Boss SD-2 pedal for OD/Distortion on lead mode. I know... My tone sucks...
