I'm reading 'Skis against the Atom' by Knut Haukelid. It's about the sabotage of a Nazi heavy water plant by Norwegian resistance. A friend in Norway told me about a miniseries by BBC and Norway TV, called The Heavy Water War (English subtitled). Stories of resistance fighters are very interesting to me.

I just finished The March of Folly: From Troy to Vietnam: Barbara W. Tuchman. Publisher intro: "Barbara Tuchman defines folly as "Pursuit of Policy Contrary to Self-Interest." In THE MARCH OF FOLLY, Tuchman examines 4 conflicts: The Trojan Horse, The Protestant Secession, The American Revolution, and The American War in Vietnam."

I watched Ken Burns' series "The War" and "Vietnam". Both have influenced my reading, I've read Bios of Mao, General Giap, and Ho Chi Minh. They are very enlightening. I got bored reading books about white guys.

The only movie I ever saw that did justice to the original book was Misery. Stayed very close to the storyline, and both Caan and Bates turn in splendid performances which bring their respective characters to life. In that instance, deciding between book and movie is a push.

Dang, you beat me to it!
