The wife decided to make a smoothie and somehow the noise of the spoon she left in the blender rattling around was normal?

Needless to say, the Oster I had for 25 years is no more.

What benders are people using these days.

Vitamix is my first choice but it is apparently it's the custom shop of blenders ($600 for a fucking blender?????)

The biggest problem I am extremely Anti-Chinese made products so would really love to avoid the dreaded Made in China

What do the gun loving, guitar buying MLP'ers recommend?

I've had a BlendTec for about 10 years. It sounds like a freight train on smoothie mode, but god dang it works well! I used to do smoothies in an Oster and they came out like liquid salad. The BlendTec I can throw a whole bag of spinach in there with some fruit and ice, and I don't feel like I'm picking greens out of my teeth afterwards. I'd highly recommend. I've never had a VitaMix, but I think those and BlendTec are the sort of Gold Standards of blenders.

Look on eBay for older Vitamix machines. I have two of them and they are built like tanks. 3600,I think.

I have one of these. It still works great for most things. It's so old it was actually made in the USA. Maybe 1970's?

My in-laws gave us one of these that they bought on impulse and never used. I use it for serious blending and mixing concrete.

I use a blender a lot so need something that is a workhorse.

A friend of mine works for Cuisinart and he gave me a small food processor. It is so cheaply made I expect it to break everytme I Use it.

What sucks is I have the metal Made in the USA base which has been in the family since the 1960's

I also have an extra replacement blade since I bought two recently.
