MTG from Buffalo here,
The ship is sinking, time to bail. But Vontae Davis has a hamstring problem that started 7 years ago. He wasn't much use as a CB and he knew it.
At least the Pats lost.

Yup. I find it harder and harder to watch them each year. Gonna be a long, long season I think.
Comments under the Bflo News article:
"It's ok the offense and defense quit too"
"This is no Surprise. I was at the game and I also "RETIRED" at half time, I went home. This team was/is unwatchable. I so regret spending the money I did to go out to the game. The Bills are a complete waste of time and Money I have been going to Bills games for many many years and i have never left a game. I was also shocked walking down Abbott Rd after leaving. So many people left at halftime that it looked like Abbott Rd BEFORE the game. I am officially retired from attending and spending Money on the Bills"
"Can this season get any weirder?"
Funny you say that my friend lives on Abbott rd and says the same thing!
MTG Im a bills fan from the first Superbowl loss. Been hopeful ever since. It's a tough ship to be on being a bills fan. Jim Kelly deserved at least one of those, great player in the day. Maybe next year they can get it together I always say.
Yup. Displaced Buffalo-ian here too. The one they SHOULD have won was XXV but even the guys still say it's not Norwood's fault for that, and I don't fault him either. Kelly does deserve a winning ring for sure, (but then Marino never got a winner either and he's one of the best QB's ever IMHO, along with Kelly) but still, their achievement has never been equaled. No NFL team has ever gone 4 consecutive years. Yeah yeah yeah, and lost all 4, I know, but still, I can look back on those 90's Bills years are some great football and a great team. Sadly they just never bounced back it seems.
I respect his decision. And sometimes it takes a lot before you realize you just can't do it anymore.
But with that being said, out of respect for the game, league, and teammates he could have finished the game.
If they were up 24 zip would he have come back out? We'll never know I guess, but my money is on yes.
It's cool he retired. But he should have finished the game.
Or if he didn't want to play the rest of the game, tell the coach, but go back out there for your teammates at least and stay on the sidelines. Even if you change into civis vs. your game uniform. On one hand you can only give him so much credit for calling it quits when he did, it's a shitty thing to do for your teammates. It'd be different if he got injured during the game and then said enough.
