I have this 74 SG Special with Gibson Bigsby, which I never use and am thinking of removing.
It looks like a stop bar tail will be too far back if I fit one and use the Bigsby screw holes.A ligjtening bolt bridge looks like it will need new post holes.
Any ideas how to proceed will be welcome.

I guess the first question would be why do you want to remove it? It shouldn't be causing any issues if you never use it but if it's an aesthetic thing - which I can understand, I obsess over how my guitars look! - I'm not sure you can get around the fact that it'll leave screw holes. You can probably line up new bushings for a STP to "cover' the front two holes but the rear two will still be visible.

*EDIT* I should add, I think it looks badass as it is. :)

I have a Bigsby on a ESP, I hate them. I have been thing of was to remove it but the damage it will leave is not worth it. They look cool but it is in the way and I never use it.
