A major brushfire in burning above Steckel Park just north of Santa Paula.
Highway 150 is closed in both directions and it's burning on both sides of the highway.
It is now more than 500 acres and spot fires are breaking out in all directions.
It's threatening the hillsides of Santa Paula, the Upper Ojai, Steckel Park.
This is a multi alarm fire with hundreds of firefighters from agencies from throughout Southern California now being called in to help including nighttime air tankers.
The fire was reported around 6:20 PM Monday in the area of Highway 150 and Thomas Aquinas College.
Engine 20 out of the Upper Ojai could see the fire the minute it left the station.
