I own a LP JR double-cut, and want to replace the stock bridge, I read Schaller and the pigtail bridge are exceptional, I would like some recommendations and/or reviews to get the best bridge for intonation.

Thank you very much!.

You set the e's with the ajustment studs and then move the center blocks for the rest... gets VERY close, not as close as 6 individual saddles.. BUT More solid, less moving parts, better feel, look and tone, in MY opinion.

You could get good intonation out of the wilkinson if you compromise on string gauge but the pigtail designs are best for precise intonation. There is alot more scope for intonation if you want to change string gauges or tunings. The modern schallers look a bit over the top the rollbar. The pigtail is what I would use, it looks the part for what it does like a nashville in a stoptail.

Please whatever adjustable wraparound you get make the guy who files the saddles cut and file the adjustment screws down a bit. Two screws sticking a centimeter out of the back of a bridge looks ugly and feels terrible as far as I'm concerned.

Do you have a Tonepros part number for the above locking stud? Assuming that the wrench size is standard (0.475"), I would estimate that the shaft diameter (right photo) is 0.306". The shaft is the part of the stud that the U-shaped openings of the bridge slide into.

I have done some comparative measurements with a stud from the Tonepros AVT2P-N bridge set. The diameter of the stud shaft is 0.245 to 0.252" which is smaller than what your left picture shows. Not only is it smaller, but it seems too small for the U-channel opening of their own bridge, which measures 0.311"). I sampled the U-opening on a Wilkinson, and it is a whopping 0.312" also. With such slop, Tonepros should be renamed Tone-Shmoes. Their web site totally sucks, with almost no drawings with measurements. The closest thing to a real drawing of the Tonepros model 5634 US threaded stud is below (courtesy of Stewmac):

I tried the Tone Pros before, but I have found that the Faber studs are far superior

Are these the Faber studs you are referring to?

The picture is from ebay listing 140544252079. Looks nice, but why can't they machine the area between the screw head and the threads to be bigger? With a 5/16" screw diameter, it looks like the shaft is noticeably smaller than that. Also, the spacers may not work in all situations, since there are only 3 sizes.

This is a diagram of the Wilkinson-Gotoh wraparound bridge.

Notice that the shaft is about the same diameter as the screw. The former is around 0.295", and the latter is 0.308".
