My WGS V30's came in today... I have a gig next friday and I want them to be broken in, but I wont be playing hours a day through my amp.
I don't have one of those AC power things that I've seen people here use, and I'm afraid im not handy enough with electrical matters that I'm comfortable plugging my wiring into the wall.

I've heard of people plugging their Ipods in to them and letting them play all day long.

Now, should I put them in the cab, and plug the Ipod straight into the cab (Ipods are powered, so they can push headphones, correct?) Or should I run a cord into the headphone jack of my stereo running my Ipod AUX into the stereo amp?

Or what else should I do to have them sining for next friday, and hopefully by tomorrow so I can use it at practice?

It takes about 40 hours of running a speaker at 75% of rated power to break in a speaker. So you need forty hours of your V-30's being pushed at about 45 watts to accomplish the task.

This

Or run it through the input that way you can EQ your amp with the Bass full up, highs almost all the way down and mids halfway. Then EQ your Ipod to be very bass heavy.

AND CRANK THE SUCKER! :dude:

Alright I'll run the ipod into an EQ then to the loop return on my MK iv, crank the amp, and let it play. Should I crank the amp and the ipod, or just the amp, and play the ipod at normal listening volumes, or crank that sucker and let her blow the windows off my house?
Thanks!

You need to be running the Mark IV at about half power. Don't let the speakers distort.

Becareful adding too much bass or other frequencies that boast the "fullness" of sound, like resonance (I don't know if your amp has resonance control, but just in case.
Amp companies like Marshall written in their owner's manuals many cautions regarding the use of large amounts of bass and resonance because these frequencies, coupled with high volume, may cause a speaker to fail (i.e. blow up). Do what you think is best, but I'd like to say that use caution when combining volume, bass, and resonance. Hope this helps.

+1

Loud but not distorted. Park it in a closet with a blanket over it if necessary and let it blast away all day.

Update!
I put my ipod into a solid state power amp, and left Journey on shuffle at a medium volume (not at all near too loud but not super quiet) and left it for probably 16 hours.
I plugged into it today for practice with the band, about 3 hours of playing, and boy it sounded pretty damn good! I'm not sure if they're broken is fully yet, but they definitely sounded killer, and way better than the first second i loaded the cab when I did a quick amp demo.
