thick leather ones make my guitar feel heavier so i use regular levi's nylon watever straps that r like 10 bucks and never had one break i bolt them to the guitar by drilling a hole in the strap and putting behind the strap button so its locked in (redneck straplocks)

Franklin makes very good guitar straps. They're made in Franklin, TN. The leather is of glove quality. A thicker strap seems to spread the weight of the guitar for me.
