Gibson SG Special w P80 and Vibrola
Good choice at a great price. I was sure, like, absolutely certain, that I was going to get a '50's Standard P-90 goldtop. But when it came time to lay down the cash the two guitars I like best were the SG Junior and the Les Paul Special. Something about those two models spoke to me more than the '60's, the SG Special or the LP Jr.
Agree 100%. Plus I HAVE to have an adjustable bridge for intonation. Can't take the wrap around, non adjustable bridge/tailpiece.P90 neck tone is sublime, and my favourite clean tone of any kind of pickup. I LOVE the simplicity of a Jr., but dang, I just cannot see myself sacrificing the neck tone on my Special.
