If you are Randy Rhoads the answer is white, if not the answer is black.

White Les Paul Customs are sweet, but they don't look good hanging on my white Wall.

White wins for me, followed closely by Vintage/Tobacco burst then black. To be fair I haven't seen a custom in one of the more standard finishes I didn't enjoy.

Black always looks good, but a bit boring. I will go with white, or cherry sunburst with cream plastics

I've always liked alpine white best, but ONLY IF it stays bright white. The older ones that turn cream don't do it for me.

That said, I've only owned black. if I ever decided to get another I'm looking for a tobacco or wine red.
