the estimates for the 56 junior and the 52 gold top seem low at 3,000 to 6,000 pounds when coverted to US dollars , then add the 36% buyer fee which includes VAT .. and still not bad even if the bids are double the estimates.

what am i missing?

if you click on the website and scroll thru the catalog it shows the low numbers

they dont provide an estimate for the 59 understandably...

i understand estimated numbers are useless in an auction as it depends on how bad at least 2 people want any item....but i dont know if i can wake up at 6am to to bid...lol

So the 59 Burst went for 132,000 pounds

52 gold top went for 7,200 pounds

56 jr went for 6,000 pounds

plus 33.6% VAT and buyer premium

i dont know what shipping would have been to the states but the 52 GT and maybe 56 jr seem like a decent deal even with the 33.6% added on....have not seen any 52 GT in the USA recently at $12,645 (includes premium) but shipping to the USA might be ugly......the 59 is out of my league, but i am sure someone is happy with it :yesway:

Prices are insane lately for everything. There is a real greed fest going on.

No greed fest
If people pay the asking price that sets the market price
if people ask a price and nothing sells price is to high.
If you set your price to low, it sells fast, and is resold for market value.
Also inflation is taking a good chuck of your $.

I thought this may interest a few people here, then I saw this thread. Here's a link to the (now ended) auction page for the above guitar...

Some lovely close-ups. Has a similarish grain and fade as Page's.
