Here is the before. I bought the guitar from a guy who stripped it in the early 70's and it sat until 2009. We started this a few months ago. It's a 65-66 Sg Special that was modded many times for different bridge setups. Took a while to figure out what color to do. I have almost all the original parts except for guard and toggle ring. The pickups are from the 50's the way I like them, key ingredient in any of my guitar restorations. This guitar rocked with a simple setup and a hardwire hookup to play.

Finishing
Almost kept it natural with all the grain lines.

Have to give credit to Larry Smoak, my local luthier, great friend he did 95% of the work. Thanks to Freddy for showing how well the Reranch Pelham Blue comes out. His mid 60's SG refin for a customer.

I will take better pics of the finished product in a few days.

Thank you very much forum Bro's. It was a fun restoration to do and obviously rewarding after it was finished. I am hoping to open up a can of worms on one of my amps tomorrow. At low volume it plays very well and sounds great.

Well had a chance to play the guitar through various Tweed amps, black faced amps today. The pickups are screamers and combined with the sustain a real winner. Quite happy with the guitar.

Thanks again for all the nice compliments.:thumb:
