I looked for this song for years, thinking it was the Animals. By luck I was YouTubing and saw yet another version by the "Nashville Teens", and there it was. Eric Burdon did record it, but his version is a slow blues. It has been covered many, many times. This is the first version of John D. Loudrmilks's song that became a hit (1964) and it is the definitive version, trust me.
The Nashville Teens were the back up band for Jerry Lee Lewis' Live at the Star Club, Hamburg in 1964.

If you are following this thread, and using a PC that won't crash..... this is a "must do".

Go back to page one.
Click on the first video link.

Every few seconds start the next video.

Keep going until all of them are playing at the same time.

It's glorious. Like the middle mash-up in "Whole Lotta Love" meets the swirling symphonic buildup at the end of "A Day In The Life".

It's overwhelming sonic cacophony.

Since they are all 2.5 to 3 minutes....... it winds down together, too.

This is a brilliant piece my father used to play. I didn't know what it was, or who performed it.

One day I stumbled on it on YouTube. Bought the album.

Masterpiece.
