What am I not seeing that everyone else is fawning over?

Wuf. Okay, let's start with my joke...I thought that writing in purple saying it was fake would indicate that it was purely a joke. I in no way, shape, or form think that that guitar is fake. I have no reason whatsoever to think that it's anything but. Like Yeti said in his pm to me, after the...heaviness of some events here this past week I was just trying to lighten things up some. Maybe I shouldn't have but my intentions were good.
Also a small note on that mess of a thread...I hope no one thinks I was trolling on there. I had a few things to say, and I made a few jokes, but when it started really getting out of hand I quietly backed out. If I came across wrong in any way I offer my apologies.
Because of issues between my phone & the forum software I need to start another post rather than deal with this compatibility issue. Thank god it's better here than the other forum!

Okay...
So, as far as my comment about my brother & Hot 'Lanta...
Obviously it was aimed at Eric who I thought would get that I meant the pics on Julio's site since he had just spoken about his site, but I did intend to include that info but obviously I forgot to. I knew Julio would know what I was talking about because he & I have had correspondance on it in the past.

Alright...where am I?
Okay, Yeti. Thank you for the apologetic pm and the apology here in the thread. I have a feeling I never saw your actual comment/joke as it looks like you retracted it even before Lousyatit could quote it, that or it's just going straight over my head...at 9:15 am....highly possible!
I actually had written "deceased brother" originally, but since I has making the fake joke and with, once again, the heaviness of recent events...I opted to remove the "deceased" (btw...making that decision is what gave me time to forget to reference Julio's site to Eric) word. So Yeti, you not knowing is to a degree my fault. My apologies for that.
Hmmm.... (insert squeaky gears while thinking noises here!)
Lousyatit knew my brother, and obviously his death is still a sore spot for him, as well as myself. Chuck is who turned me on to just how f^cking COOL it was/still is to not just play guitar, but to be a guitarist. ..to live it and breathe it.
Hey, I'm gonna start a new post before the compatibility issues kick in...

Okay..
Anyway, Chuck's death was refreshed in Lousy'smind and my own as the 9th anniversary of his passing was July 16th. I was already having a particularly weepy day over it. Sometimes it's worse than others.
Chuck turned me on to cool b^d^ss guitar music early on. Allmans, Jimi, Focus, all while I was seven, eight years old. Another of his, and therefore my favorites was Johnny Winter.
So imagine this already weepy missing my brother days and suddenly I find out Johnny W has died.
My first thought was..."I need to call Chuck".
Man, I came apart! Drinking hadn't helped matters.
I posted about it here and over there, and over there I mentioned Chuck which also reminded Lousy of it, and btw Lousy, thank you for the post there...it did help brighten a bad time.
So Yeti, maybe it's better I didn't actually see it, and admittedly I was a bit at fault for not sayingthat he was dead. But I can tell you really feel bad and hurt about it and your apology is accepted.

The only thing good about this phone/forum issue is my post count is increasing rapidly!

This should be it I hope.
Yeti, I'm sure it sucked for Lousyatit to "scold" you. I'm sorry...but not apologizing per se..
I've got enough people trying to create problems for me in my life...someone defends me & mine?
I'm entirely too thankful for it...there's no way is h3ll I'll apologize for that. Rather...
Thank you Lousyatit my good man! Thank you for having Chuck and myself's back!!!

As far as whether or not or when it's cool to make jokes about someone's deceased family member.
Well you didn't know Yeti so I can't really hold that against you, Yknow?
But no, with knowing and making a joke...probably not ever cool...at least without certain circumstances.
I don't know if Lousy knows this, but...man, Chuck was habitually late. Working with him one time he left me at a place we were doing a phone install when he realized we didn't have everything needed to actually connect service (read...no phone at all...pre cell phone). So around 10 pm-ish he leaves me there and goes to the office to get the remaining stuff.
Around one a.m. I'm starting to get p!ssed. 6 a.m.-grrrrrr!!! 8 a.m.- these people are coming in and they are irate they don't have phones-this was a real estate open/model house/temporary office.
At 12 noon I happen to see the landscapers. Good friends of mine and had to go back within a mile of my house...so I left.
Chuck calls me around 4 freaking p.m. p!ssed that I'm not there!!! He went home and went to sleep!
o tie this back in to how early can you make jokes...
Keep in mind everyone grieves differently. .. a famous line here was he'd be late to his own funeral.
After the viewing at the funeral home and

And at the beginning of the funeral I reminded everyone of his habitual tardiness and of the family joke...
And informed them I had Chuck put in the hearse and driven around town while we sat there and waited for him. :)
Nah, there's plenty of good opportunities to make jokes at his expense, but if you knew him. Some dude that didn't making a joke would I'm sure meet the wrong end of a Norlin Goldtop. But I'm one of those make a joke no matter the circumstance people and I've been guilty of wrong place-wrong time myself

So in closing, all is well guys, at least I hope so. :)
And thank you again Lousy! ;)

EvLectric, I'd have done the same thing if in Lousyatit's shoes. I'd much rather be "scolded" and offered an opportunity to apologize (thanks for accepting, BTW) than not being made aware of it.
Thanks again.

I'm sure we'll have ample opportunity to get into it over something else sometime! :D
All is well. :)
