Hi there . . . fairly new poster, but been lurking these boards for a while. Seen plenty of gorgeous pics of antique/boutique/dead mint Lesters.

But how about a pic thread for the beaters? You know, the LP you're not afraid to bang around a bit and has the scars to prove it. Needn't be aged/relic'd or otherwise totally beat to shit. Let's just salute your everyday workhorses!

Here's my old faithful. Not a Gibson, but, definitely the guitar I'll always turn to. Got a few dings here and there, but I've only had it for about a year. Either way, I'm not going to relic or artificially age her, but, normal wear, dings, and just playing dirt/wear doesn't bother me at all :thumb:

Like some ageing hollywood actress this old bird looks far worse in the flesh than she does on film (1971 Deluxe).

My '97 LP Special has chips and dings and scratches all over it. That's how it was when I found it, but I ain't afraid to add more myself. All I did was change the black plastic it had for Creme. :D

My pics don't show the wear that good but there are some dings a nice chip out of the back of the headstock, nothing to mess the playability up but she is not mint & I am not afraid of dinging her. Not trying to though :)

My '74 Custom has rash on the back, dings and nicks and chips out of the paint.

An old beat up guitar means to me it is good enough that someone liked to play the snot out of it. A sign of a really good guitar.
