............there’s a million of them.

Far out what a funny Thread, especially when you consider that Gibson never saw / measured Beano & Eric most probably can’t remember what Beano was like.

Will the real Beano please step forward.

Well I suppose whatever makes you feel good.

:cheers2:

I love clapton. I'd buy anything they put out within reason on price. And I'm not ashamed of it.

His regular production strats are amongst the best things Fender puts out every year.

I'd buy the rediculously overpriced Blackie and brownie both before this though.

When Eric Clapton had the Beano was it aged like that at the time?.....it was only a few years old before it was "stolen".....

So Eric Clapton reviewed a prototype that would show 50+ years of age he had never seen or felt.....How could it be wrong?..:D

#1 means that it didn't do it for him, hence those that followed. My co-worker was in England at the time Pat from the UK/ER office had the proto that Page finally approved for his run. My co-worker decided to defile it before it was delivered to him by playing AC/DC on it, lol.
From my understanding, 5 or so artist proofs are done to give to he artists as “gifts”. It’s not a “keep artist proofing until you get it right thing”. Was I misinformed?

That's correct. There may even be a prototype, before they created the proofs.

JP got 20 proofs for his artist guitar. And those are all owned by some heavyweights themselves. (I think Eddie Vedder has one.)

Wow, Eddie Vedder. Doesn't get any bigger than him.

I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and i myself like plaintops but i find that guitar kinda underwhelming to look at especially when they had an artistic license to work with didn't they ?? Are there any real good pictures of the original to even work with ??

Who am i fooling anyway, i couldn't afford to spend more than $1400- $1500 U.S. on a Les Paul anyway.

Good to hear that it is a fantastic player.

just listen to beano/EC......

I bought the Beano Album desperately wanting to like it. I was disappointed.

I have heard better & there are better players IMHO. Clapton is just so overrated it isn’t funny.

Just think Killing Floor & Hendrix in London. I believe he made Eric look like a rank amateur.

Just my opinion of course as he has many fans & rightly so.

BTW, SRV did a way better version of this song.

:cheers2:

Clapton is my favorite by far and yet the Beano album does nothing for me.

I don't think Clapton is the greatest guitarist ever, but I like him, and think he deserves a hell of a lot of credit. He is just so versatile. There are people that are great songwriters who have no business playing or singing (Bob Dylan), and there are those who are great players who can't write well, but, Clapton excels at both, IMO.

The guy has hit songs in the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, and still made some great music even after that. Not only that, but look at the different sounds.....from the Yardbirds to Cream to the 80's stuff, and then of course the acoustic.

For me, Clapton is one of the greatest MUSCIANS ever, the guitar being his main tool of the trade.

I like Page and Clapton, but I love Beck.

I like SRV, but I love Hendrix.

Satch and Vai is ok, but Edward is better.

That just my opinion:D

Ah...you like that "out there" shit. :420:. I really can't see anything good about Beck, and Clapton sites him as an influence. All opinion though, I know. To me, I don't care how musically amazing or "out of the box" it is, if it sounds like shit, it's shit. :laugh2:
