I hope he cranks out a double at his first AB tonight, that will give him 3k hits and 600 doubles.
20 Yrs 2999 hits, 599 doubles.

Personally, I hope Cabrera hits one out for the big knock. It'd make him only the fourth to make number 3,000 a home run. (The previous three: Hall of Famers Derek Jeter and Wade Boggs, plus Álex Rodríguez.

Cabrera will also become the only Triple Crown winner to reach 3,000 hits and 500+ home runs in his career. Not even Ty Cobb, Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Rogers Hornsby, Nap Lajoie, Mickey Mantle, Joe Medwick, Frank Robinson, or Carl Yastrzemski ever did that among the Triple Crowned.

This guy will be sitting at the bar with Johnny "Football" Manziel and Colin Kaepernick.

"MINNEAPOLIS -- Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball on Friday for giving fans the middle finger during a game Wednesday in Cleveland.

Anderson is appealing the ban and will play until the matter is settled. He remained in the lineup Friday, committing his sixth error in three games in a 2-1 loss to Minnesota."

The Tigers have a doubleheader today. Cabrera has 18 innings to get one hit. We also get to watch Kris Bryant.

Congrats to Cabrera. Not sure many players are going to play long enough to get there in the future. Juan Soto maybe?

He was "lose your job awful" last night.

My team won and it was still bad. Schwarbs spoke for everyone there and watching on TV. I applaud him. (And wish the Brewers would have signed him)

Lindor gets drilled. That’s the 20th HBP for #Mets batters in 2022. In 23 games.

FYI:

Ever since Joe Maddon inexplicably ordered Corey Seager walked with the bases loaded, Maddon's Angels have been . . . 12-5.

Because, as Jayson Stark would say . . . baseball!!!

In other news Eric Lauer, who was an afterthought on my Brewers rotation has the looks of a legitimate top 3 starter. Mix in Hauser and Ashby as a 6th starter and this rotation is sick. Hopefully the offense will come around. Urias just got activated so thats a good thing. He was once promising and fell out of favor with San Diego but played well last year and long with Adames brings some energy and fun to the team. Unfortunately Yelich, who still has excellent exit velo, looks like he will never be half of the player he was when he signed his contract to stay in Milwaukee.

I was well afraid that that fractured kneecap he incurred near the end of the 2019 season and the back injury he had last year would have a negative impact upon him.
