Funny, I still like all of the bands I liked when I was young, The Beatles, Stones, Doors, Floyd, The Who, Beach Boys, Allman Bros, Purple, Moody Blues, Tull, Zep, all the way to Van Halen, SRV and DT, REM, Psychedelic Furs, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, STP, Porcupine Tree, etc. All of the bands I didn't like, I still don't like. Rock, blues, jazz, folk, Americana, my tastes have evolved, but I never dislike anything.

However, though I haven't disliked them, there are some I was so drained with over the years that I no longer listen to them all that often. Examples: U2, The Eagles, Bad Company, Doobies ...

I'm so cool I don't like ANYTHING anymore. Some of you are sophisticated enough to agree with me, I'm sure. But too many of you still like things, because your ears are not good enough. Once you finally hear it you'll learn that it's all crap.

not bands but several country singers that I used to really like then they got too cool to actually sing. Jamey Johnson was great when he first hit the scene.. now he is a wannabe David Allen Coe who tries to sing without moving his lips....REBA.. at one time she was the best.. now she tries to put at least 5 syllables in every word.....the biggest offender believe it or not IMO is WYNONA.. that woman can SING ( well could) now she tries to growl through every song.....

When I was switching from classical to pop/rock and learning guitar, I liked Green Day, Coldplay, Nickelback, Three Days Grace, and others like them. I also used to like blues, thrash, and bands like Van Halen, Kiss, etc.

They lost me after Sticky Fingers...

You mean you've missed out on the beauty of 'Exile'...? You cannot appreciate their version of Robert Johnson's 'Stop breaking down', for example...? Or the total raunch of 'Torn and frayed'??? Or 'Tumbling Dice'???

My flabber is gasted, Raymond!!! :wow: :D :dude:

my problem is more when bands "change".......I lose interest.

For example, early REM and U2.......the college radio days were great. Once they got "big" I can't stand them. Pearl Jam and Black Crowes fall into this rut also.

The other issue is radio.........around here, bands like ZZTop and Led Zep only have like three songs........that's all you ever hear. It makes me not listen to them even though they have very deep catalogs.

and some bands I liked then and still listen to.......their new stuff as well as their old.......Social Distortion and Joan Jett come to mind. Both have released some great material lately.

^Ditto on all points.
Detroit radio is the same way. Mid '70's you'd get Zappa, Roxy Music, Stevie Wonder, Yes, Montrose,on and on, all in one block.
They'd play Zep's 'Out On The Tiles.' Aerosmith 'Season's of Wither.'
Now, it's dullsville, man.
Zeppelin? 'Communication Breakdown.'
Aerosmith? 'Walk This Way.'
And you WILL hear 'Sweet Home Alabama.'

I used to be a big R.E.M. fan but for many years now I've not really wanted to listen to them. It was right about the time they put out "Crush With Eyeliner" that they lost me. Although if I heard "These Days" on the radio I'd still turn it up and listen.
