Totally, I always thought it was like a full length Twilight Zone episode, then I found out that was because the screen play was written by Rod Serling. I read the book when I was a kid, it's actually pretty good, slightly different, but with a nice twist at the end (not the same as the movie, though the 2001 remake retained some elements)

Just about any sci-fi movie from the fifties. I don't remember the title, but there was a rocket ship in space, pilot and co-pilot were separated from the rest of the crew by a three dollar plastic shower curtain. You would think if they could figure out how to get into space, they could sure as hell find something better than a shower curtain
