Authenticity, like electrons, is heavily theorized, but never directly observed. It's total nonsense. You hear this word a lot in relation to food. "Only the most authentic ingredients were hand selected by our discriminating chefs.."Only tomatoes grown in the "insert rustic sounding area of some European nation here" region are used to create authentic pizza. Only NY pizza, made in NY, by Italians from the east side is authentic. What if someone from Minnesota gets the same recipe and makes it in St. Paul? It's total bulljive.

Nothing is really authentic, therefore everything is authentic.

The same goes for music, books, movies, golf, guitars, or any other aspect of life where consumers try to one up each other for status and engage in cork sniffery.

Nunt uh. Try growing wine grapes from Napa in Minnesota and making a really good merlot. It's not going to taste the same. Therefore, you wasted a lot of time presenting that theory.
