For all you others:-

BBC News - Led Zeppelin unleash unheard recordings

Legendary rock group Led Zeppelin have unveiled two previously unheard recordings ahead of the reissue of the band's first three albums in June.
The two tracks - blues classic Keys to the Highway, recorded in 1970, and an early version of the famous song Whole Lotta Love - are among dozens of tracks which the band will officially release alongside the reissues.

The companion discs will feature alternative versions of songs, works in progress and live performances, all recorded at the time of the original albums.
The tracks, like hundreds of others, had been carefully catalogued but then locked away in the the band's archive for decades.
Guitarist Jimmy Page, 70, has spent two-and-a-half years combing through the vaults, listening to hundreds of quarter-inch tapes before choosing the best material.

Thought I'd make yer day.

:D

(The agonized mooing you hear in the background is the sound of the cash cow being milked to death.)

Page made the selections? Pah! What the hell does a 70 year old man know about Rock and Roll?

Squashed again,

"The surviving members reunited seven years ago for a concert at London's O2. But fans will be disappointed if they are hoping there will be another one.

Page says: "I'm sure people would love to hear it. I'm not the one to be asking, I don't sing."

Plant, however, is unequivocal. The chances of the band performing live again are, he says rolling his eyes, "zero".

So fans will have to content themselves with the reissued albums. And Robert Plant has one piece of advice for them. "These things aren't to study. They're to turn up very loud and say, hey, once upon at time, everything was just as easy as this."

Well? What was Percy's one piece of advice?

I heard the preview of Communication Breakdown live from '69 and it gave me chills.

Huuuuuge Zep fan here and even moreso as I get older.

I would rather them release a live album from '75 or '77, than lesser track from the vaults.

I'm glad to hear anything from them that I haven't heard before. They are the benchmark to which all heavy rock bands are compared and for good reason. Every member if that band was a genius at doing what they did.

John Paul Jones is probably the most underrated musician of all time.

It's easy to give Zeppelin a cursory listen and go "meh", if you're unfamiliar with the band. But do a little digging through their albums and you find gem after gem.

Page is the master of guitar hooks. Actually, he's a master of many things including production and recording but his riffs are going to last a whole lot longer than a top hat and Ray Bans.

I love LZ.

They got all the miney and gurls.

Generally feel good songs that groove.

Hard not to like.

But I respect them a little less than I used to, from seeing all the swiping they did, learning about it here.

But I perk up whenever I hear the first riff of a LZ song, everytime.

Oh great, more controversy.
Being the victim of having been subjected to my older sibling's music, (I'm the youngest of three) my brother got me hooked on LZ.
My sister (middle) got me listening to Janis, The Stones, Ten Years After, Rod Stewart.
Eldest brother brought home the new album every week, Doobie Brothers, Van Halen, Elton John, Boston all aor.
Physical Graffiti was the one, Night Flight, The Rover, Ten Years Gone and Sick Again
cemented it for me, there was no going back.
TSRTS and I developed an almost unhealthy devotion to Zeppelin and Page.
