Absolutely true, but I reserve the right to laugh and call them a poser.:)
If you think being judgmental is awesome, then I guess you're awesome. Laughing at people and calling them names is for grade schoolers.

I've got a crisp hundo that says you'd be right at the front of the line to Poserville if a Murphy aged R9 fell into your hands.

Personally,

I could never understand why someone would buy a red shirt.

I think they look stupid and the people that wear them are just being silly.

I'd say fake is fake is fake. Some that do this are just pretending they have something they really don't. An old guitar that has seen much play.I also have no doubt that at times they try and fake others out as well as to the fact they have something that is old, and we'll played.

They can do as they please. It's their guitar. But growing up, (guitar wise,) in the sixties, the rare Les Paul guitar that one did see was not beat up, and checked like that. Most actually looked pretty good, realitively speaking.

This is just a way to pretend like you really have an old guitar.

Just living a lie really.

Do what you will. It's yours.
Agree with this...

They are FAKE, yet mugs still buy them at inflated prices.

The Kings new cloths...

To me i guess it's a bit like having a 24 year old beauty but wanting a lady with a few more miles on the clock!

Why, when modern Les Pauls are superior any way?
Why would you want a look-a-like fake?

I was against relic guitars myself but I have scored a USA Fender Strat for $350. It got an awful relic job, then I removed the finish with acetone and left it natural. 2 hours job and I got an lovely looking american strat for $350.

Thanks guys, keep doing relic!!!

If one of those fell into my hands I would refinish it and put on some shiny new hardware, thank you very much. :)

Its only silly when they cut holes, stain and dirty them up on purpose.

An artificially aged guitar is the same thing as a fake antique, except the antique buying public hates fakes and a portion of the guitar buying public seems to like them
Actually antiques have them too. They are called reproductions.

While I'm not into artificially aged guitars, I'm not going to insult someone that likes them.

We all like something or other that some people don't like, guitar related or otherwise.

Right that is true, all I'm saying is that if you like the look of a vintage Guitar
why not but a real one, instead of making a forgery.

Oh I fully agree. I think relic'd guitars are silly. I would never buy one. I'm just recognizing that we all spend money on dumb things occasionally.
