I'm late in coming to this thread, but yes, my 335 was my go to guitar for damn near a decade. When I play with the guys in the garage I use Les Pauls, but on jam nights at the pub I still take my 335 as I'm superstitious about taking any other guitar and then bombing...I need to get over this quirk of mine.

The pic below is of my collection of hollows and semis, the 446 gets the most mileage when I play alone at home, and is one of Gibson's most underrated guitars in my opinion.

I know it's an LP forum. I'm the one in the wrong place, but I like it here. :laugh2:

Just curious if anybody else here is a semi hollow type at heart and anything else will always be secondary?

Bought my first one six weeks ago. Love it, and mine's only an Epiphone.
Wouldn't go as far as "semi hollow type at heart and anything else will always be secondary", more a case of, 'I'm 51, time I got a 'grown ups' guitar.'

Guitar arrived today.

Totally Piece Of Shit. It's going back and asked for a refund.

Binding totally garbage, edgy, non linear tickness, finish along the binding it's a disaster, fret rocking all along the fretboard, a little nut from something inside the guitar was wobbling, until it popped out from the f-holes, don't wanna know what it was for.

This is the second time, on top of three, that I get totally POS coming from Gibson Memphis, I think I'm done really. Those guys must be drunk to let shit like that passing by QC.

Unbelievable....

Will you buy another one :hmm:

I'm lucky to have these 3 Gibson's in my collection:

Of the 3, the Dot just recently became the #1 of this trio.

The Shaws always sounded good, but recently is upgraded the harness to a 50's, and also added a special cap and treble bleed.

The Dot sounds amazing, and I now know why there's such a fuss about the Shaws.

'63 ES-330 .'70 ES-335, '83 ES-335 Dot.

I don't have much in the way of hollows ...

A Washburn HB35 and an Ibanez Artcore AV-SomethingOrOther (Great playing guitars, looks like death too lol)

The Washburn has a lot of finish checking because it was delivered in January and the high temp that day was something like 7 degree Fahrenheit. I even let it warm up in a room that was about 55 degrees Fahrenheit before unpacking it but that damage was done before delivery. Good thing it was just $300 used w/Hard Case.

Nice pics. Looks like we're both in the Washburn and Ibanez club.

Took a gamble on a 1997 Washburn HB35 that was listed with a hardshell case in VGC on GC used section a few months back.

Had never seen one in person but online reviews seemed positive.

For $299 I had doubts but had it shipped to store anyways so I could reject on the spot without the hassle of me sending it back if need be.

Happy with it? Oh yeah. Bonus it came with a TKL case. I've had a couple GC used duds this year but this one made up for it. I like my two Ibanez semi - hollows but this Washburn is a step above in the overall feel and details.

Currently new they're about $650 but I'll grab another older used one for about the same price as a new Epi or low end Ibanez if it shows up on radar.

Crappy cell phone pics but still able to see things like the headstock/neck binding and flame top that these pics don't do justice.

Yeah, I'm happy with mine also when I'm in that mood. Nice looker you got, mine is a 2003 I think if I remember correctly. Pretty sure I got it for $299 from Guitar Center's website in their used section with hard case.

Nice fretboard ... the layered binding on the fretboard makes it seem like the fretboard is more narrow than other guitars but it isn't. it's like an illusion.

Not until this year.
Been bitten hard.

Left - 1997 Washburn HB35
Center - 2018 Ibanez AS73
Right - 2006 Ibanez AS83

Another AS73 is on the way.

Ha! I played my Washburn this evening! Detected that I need a new nut! Mine's just under .018 at the first fret so there's a little fret buzz hitting open strings. If you ever need one they measure 1.69" (43mm).

I ordered one made for it and will replace it when it comes.

I bought mine online and when it came it was below zero Fahrenheit, the finish cracked in a few spots but the checking looks good. I even let it warm to a cool 56 degree room temp in the house in a side room not used but it didn't help it. Probably happened way before I got it on the truck and UPS warehouse.

I love a good 335. I'll get one after I'm rich and famous but for now my Sheraton II is an excellent piece.

The Sherry is a really well done git. I have one as well as a few 335's and I think that if Epi made the Sherry with a mahogany neck Gibson would have trouble selling 335's :)

Back OT... I have little use nowadays for solid body gits. The 335, 345, and other Gibson semis just work better for me.
