I have a friend thats a Gibson dealer. He sometimes gets in guitars that were ordered over a year ago. They aren't special orders, just regular stock.
Gibson is VERY sloppy about their inventory. You never know what they might still have in the warehouse. Its hard for him to tell when a model is brought back or discontinued. They run the company like its 50 years ago.

The prices seem beyond hopeful. I search ebay and craigslist regularly (3-4 times a week) and see the same guitars over and over again. I can't imagine it's worth the posting fees to continually offer those instruments at a price well past their market value. They aren't selling. I literally see the same guitars from the same sellers week after week. I don't get it.

I think they've announced that they've been discontinued, but have still continued to make them. I believe Larry Corsa from CV Guitars received a lot of them.

Yeah, he managed to buy several chambered models with later serial numbers.

The funniest thing is that you can buy the Corsa modded guitars for less than any of these. He's selling his for 2k.

I wasn't aware that they still made Faded Standards though.. Shows ya what I know, because there it is! :laugh2:

They don't.
I have one from mid '09. One of the last of a limited batch of 50.
They have now gone the way of the dodo.
Brown bread,no more,dis-continued(as they were supposed to be in late '08).
