First off let me start off by saying there's something magical about the shape of a guitar and the wood and electronics and how it sings. I'm more of a fender guy but I was given a '58 custom and I have no idea how much it is worth.

It’s not a custom shop guitar ... Made in USA on the headstock means it’s a Gibson USA guitar, plus it has a Nashville bridge ... honestly I’m not sure what you have there. Would need more and better pics

Would that serial number be consistent with a 2000 Standard?

Def not a '58, nor a Custom Shop.

I think so ... I think I see wings on back of headstock pic but not totally sure.

I'm no expert, but I recognize that well worn serial number.
At least you didn't pay for it OP. Please don't sell it as a genuine Gibson
if you flip it though. Might be a decent player anyway.

I appreciate it guys. it was given to me after I finished a bathroom remodel so I don't have any money into it whatsoever. I'm moving soon so I'm lightening my load a little bit. I won't try to get rid of it then it'll just stay part of the collection. Once again I really appreciate it guys

Yes, start at $0, then subtract for the horrible relic job. Whoever gave it to you owes YOU probably $50 to go along with the guitar. Tell him, though, that you prefer CASH.
I got paid handsomely. This was just something he threw me on my way out. He has a room full of about 25 of these

25 eh?......What's his name and address so we can send the FBI for a visit..... maybe the funds he paid you with was from sales of these piece of shit guitars.
