I thought about getting the Sony Smartwatch. When I get new email or message, I'd rather glance quickly at my wrist than taking out my phone. And I guess nobody here takes the bus or walks down the street listening to music. Those are situations where discreet control over the phone would come quite "handy".

It just occurred to me if you have one of these on your wrist while driving, the cops can get you for texting and driving or distracted driving no matter what right?

Won't it be doing pretty much the same thing your phone is doing? What unique features does it bring that aren't already done on an iPhone?

cheers

It says Apple on it. Don't question, just conform. You want it. Give them your money.

Got nothing against it, for me a watch is a mechanical device that tells time so i don't have to look at my phone, but if you like it more power to you

Looks about as cool as wearing your phone on your belt imo.

The best thing about a mobile phone is being able to leave it in another room when you don't want to be annoyed by calls. Having a tiny phone that I can't read strapped to my wrist all day long is not something I'd pay money for.

A good Swiss watch with a nice leather strap. Auto, if a Vulcan wind up.
We both got IPads yesterday, mine is set and she is given up.
The Androids are cool we are keeping them.
But Androids are a hand job and IPads are Pus--y!

Charlie Rose interviewed Tim Cook this evening. He said the Apple watch will have a heart rate monitor app.

:hmm: Years ago people would be outraged at having a tracking device strapped to them. Seems times have changed and people will now actually pay for it.

I never set up the Google tracking thing or GPS. The find my phone is silly, it's one my desk where is always has been. I don't want a thing in outer space watching my every move. I can read a map. That voice on the GPS is a nasty woman's, she gets more nasty if you minds a turn. I know a short cut any way. Sun East and West, you can do North and South from there. I never saw moss on the North side of a tree. If you are looking for moss you ran off the road stupid bastard.

and slowly it becomes the norm.

but what happens to those who refuse to adapt,....15 years from now.

Will they have a choice?

Or will being a Luddite be a crime?

...that's actually something I worry about sometimes. Being forced to adapt a tech lifestyle.

Tracking chip in your license and it's a crime to not have a license? it's not implausible,...but it sure seems wrong.
