Those Ipuds think and control the Ipuds. They "know" everything. This stunt made U2 lots of money. Apple is down to seeds and stems.

BS. The fact that some of those numbers have decimals totally negates that argument.:laugh2:

Right, just saw that. Seems you can delete it, but it still shows in the Artist/Album area, with songs listed in the cloud.

Or you could, you know, follow the link to remove it from your library, as was already pointed out ITT.

It makes me wish that, over the years, Apple didn't get to monopolize on the music download business.

IIRC, the other option of the day was Napster, where the artist/songwriter got nothing.

Its a free music...Just give it a listen if you don't like it just delete it! I really don't get the drama. Its U2 not Justin Bieber. Let the music do the talking!

By the way U2 is a decent band in my opinion I never get the ultimate U2 hate...

Post your song list. We'll tell you if its good music or not. :)

Uhh, ok. Very well, then.

currently in rotation would be:

Chick Corea/Return to Forever- Light as a Feather
Some various Bach compositions
Some wacky tobacky Devin Townsend stuff
Mr. Bungle's self titled album
Los Angeles Guitar Quartet
Santana's Abraxas
and some Fleshgod Apocalypse

I don't think it's U2 hate so much as it is Bono hate. Think of all the preachy, student council-running for, "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem" types you might be familiar with. Now imagine they started a really popular band, made a ton of money, and were given a much louder voice to be preachy with. That's Bono.

Honestly, I've heard far worse bands than U2 myself. No, they're not as great or as groundbreaking now as they were in the 80s, but they've had a handful of good songs in the past 15 years or so, and personally the Edge has influenced me a lot as a guitarist (Unforgettable Fire FTW). Also, U2 have done something nearly no other "better" bands have done - go 30+ years with the exact same lineup. I feel they deserve some props for that.

But for many, Bono's obnoxious "if you aren't helping out, you're hurting everyone" stance has tainted many people's opinion of the band so bad that if they see U2 involuntarily (such as in their iTunes), it's like Bono shoving his ideals in their face even more. I dunno, YMMV

The forum who loves Les Pauls made by Gibson but hates Gibson for making Les Pauls we don't love as much but are also not forced to buy hates Apple for giving us something for free which we can delete.

Hmm. Not surprising.

I'm keeping U2. If it was Justin Beeper or whatever his name is, I'd delete it. And I get the Bono thing. But Edge is cool in It Might Get Loud so I will give it some listening time. I didn't even know it was there until this thread though, so thanks.

You may hate Bono. However the subject is not a book about Bono's philosophy, its a free album made by a one of the biggest bands of all time (You may dislike their sound) Just give it a listen then make your decision. I don't see a reason for such a big drama.
