im gonna get the aged bone nut from stewmac.com. im gonna have a guitar tech cut it for me. he does like 10 of them everyday and he's been a tech for 25 years. i just played my friends epi les paul standerd with a bone nut he installed and i compared it to my epi and there was quite a noticable amount of sustain improvent(well at least i could hear it and thats all that counts).
i just got my gibby 57 pickups in the mail two days ago and im waiting to put them in. there going to sound great with my voxac30 i cant wait!!!

if you havent gotten a replacment yet you might want to consider a tusq. there made by graphtech, someone mentioned it earler in the thread. I have one on my partsocaster and really like it. you can get them pre-cut for just about any model, you just have to do some fine tuning/sanding on it to get it just right.

TUSQ man made ivory

IMO tusq sounds good , easy to work with , but can chip and flake. Laravee guitars did jump on the tusq band wagon , both being Canadian and on the west coast. They no longer use tusq.
:hmm:

I'm glad you and dennistruckdriver are getting along again. I think it is great that you are learning to do all of the mods and work on the guitar. I kinda get into this sort of thing myself. Although I should spend les time thinking about mods and more time practicing. For me, the latter will do more to make my guitar sound sweet than any mod I can think of at the moment. But when I'm proficient, I intend to start tricking out my epi as well.

Will do. funny awhile ago in the local classifieds a guy was selling a Fender amp that bubbles used in his College day, and yes he has been in bands and can play a bit.

yeah sounds good the roller for sure if you are going trem, do not forget GIBSON knobs for those CTS, and as far as drilling, reaming etc. I put CTS in my guitar with the pup change, and I just filed the holes big enough with a small tapered round file. whatever have fun if you do not feel you can not manage it all get your tech to do it.:fingersx::thumb:

Hornsby is definitely a 'chick' drink. Anything that will get 'em drunk, right?:naughty:
