Anyone know how many maple neck/blonde (natural) body guitars were made in 1977?

possible's ass Billy....lol!!

what did you pay for the one that you said was basically "toast" and you had replaced everything on it (you know, the one you said was worth more that $2500....up, up and away....) :laugh2:

c'mon dude, you asked, and I showed you, period.

I`ve got a 76 Standard W/O the original pickups. Duncans in there now that sound great. When I got the guitar (pics) not much was original. Slowly I got it close, lacking T-tops. Well I have a set and wondering how much the value would be with period correct pickups as opposed. Any help greatly appreciated.

I mean possible...you said the guitar has
a possible cracked/fractured neck
and that is just not so....there is no indication of that at all....just talk.

I have seen your guitar, looked at all the pics and I think you did a great job.....not knocking it....you said you thought I was wrong about being able to buy one of these for that money....I gave you an example of one, period.

you said I was wrong about the shipment totals not reflecting the number of these guitars out there....but your "copied post statement" says what I say.

hell I saw a 1976 Gold Top that also falls into your "Magic 23" serial number and they want 4K for it......does not mean anyone is buying it.

I need to get back to work......you know we will debate it til the cow's come home :)

The 'shipping records' published in many books are not correct. They quote Gibson's records, yes, but Gibson's shipping records at the time were wildly inaccurate. Suffice to say, Gibson made a lot of Les Pauls of all types in this period. Or, as Ron White would say, 'a shit road.'

I d see about 16 at every guitar show 20 years ago ...every pawn shop and decent size Gibson dealer had one hanging .

Unfortunately they were good sellers

My 1977 Natural Standard is one of my best sounding Les Pauls,
as I wrote many times, I put the Faber Locking Hardware for the Callaham Stop
and the Faber Titanium Saddle ABR-1 and a new Ivory Nut.

That set-up just rings with harmonics and kicks ass.

Both my Naturals have killer stock pups, the T-Tops and The Shaws.

I measured the 1977 T-Top Pickups on the 1977 Standard Natural:

7.63 Bridge
7.52 Neck
3.78 Middle

Here is the 1981 Shaw Pickups on the 1981 Standard Natural:

7.44 Bridge
7.55 Neck
3.75 Middle

They are both very close and are in the sweet-spot range.
