Anyone have a Traditional Pro II

Hi all,

I'm close to buying a new Les Paul and I'm really interested in the Trad Pro II because it has a 60's neck, satin finish, 57 pickups etc. Not overly keen on the 10 db boost and coil split, but I'll probably put a new 50's wiring harness in anyway.

Does anyone have one of these? What are your impressions? How does it play/sound? Unfortunately, I can't try one before I buy as I live in Canada and there are no GC/MF around.

I really appreciate your help.

I do. I was wanting one as a plain top but to my surprise it came in a flame top. Also it had a wire tucked down in between the two coils of the bridge humbucker.

I dont know. Thats what I was hoping someone could tell me. I am still debating on sending it back for another one or just keeping this but I wish I knew what that wire is doing tucked down between the coils.

Why not have a tech take a quick look at it?

It is brand new, just got it 2 days ago from musicians friend. They sent me a ups label so I can send it back if I want. Just not sure what to do yet.

That flame top looks awesome! Not sure if I'd rather have that or a plain top now.

The mysterious wire aside...how does it play and sound? Do you know how much it weighs?

Plays and sounds awesome. I prefer a plain top usually but man this is growing on me fast.

I have one in Merlot with the 60s neck. My first LP, and it plays and sounds great.

Here is my 2012 Trad Pro 2. I put covers on the pups and put a Standard TRC on. I absolutely love it. The Cherry Sunburst has a 50's neck, which took a little getting used to but I love it now. The pickups are awesome and I love the coil-taps.
