If you must have one carved in, why not do a small cross inlay in the same place as the inlay on SRVs Lenny? That would be neat lookin'

Why do people want to show their faith? I guess its no different than when I used to wear band T-shirts. Maybe You want other people like you to identify you as one of them.

Regards

Carl

Most people grow out of wearing band t-shirts in their late twenties, or change bands that they like. It called evolution.

I find it amusing. It's as if JFK fans adopted a rifle as their symbol.

It's not what the Cross did that matters, it's what God used it for that matters. Have you ever heard of the term "He died on the Cross for our sins"? The Cross represents the fact that we (meaning Christians) were Redeemed when Jesus died on the Cross. Therefore, Christians use the symbol of the Cross to represent the fact that Jesus died for our sins so that we can be Forgiven, not to glorify a method of punishment.

Jesus, Who knew no sin, Became sin for us, and died the death we should die for our sins, and because of His Sacrifice, we can have Eternal Life. We should be crucifed for our iniquities, but Jesus took our place on the Cross, died the death we deseve (and He didn't deserve), so that we can be Saved.

The Cross also represents a departure from traditional Jewish Religion. Read through the Old Testament and you will read about Animal Sacrifices that are performed as Atonement for sin. Jesus' death on the Cross is the final sacrifice required for Forgiveness of sin.

Now, please explain to me the personal benefit you received from JFK's assassination.

JFK's behavior in the Cuban Missile Crisis preserved a world into which I could be born. It also has much more documentation, of much surer provenance, than any act ascribed to Jesus -- or any other alleged deity.

This discussion has devolved into religious debate and historical debate and has fallen away from the OP's original request. Can you people (on both sides of the argument) just put your ego away?

It's crap like that that will get a thread locked. Ffs.

Respectfully, stay on point. Your comment was about the adoptation of a gun as symbol of JFK. You were making a comment about an item used for death becoming a symbol to represent the Person that was killed, and the "irony" of he symbol. With Jesus' death, there was Fulfillment of Scripture and Redemption. I'm not sure how the gun JFK was killed with prevented the Cuban Missle Crisis...

As for decorating your LP with a Cross, go for it! I personally would prefer sonething symetical (something down the center of the guitar), whether is be beneath the bridge area, on the truss rod cover, or an ornate inlay on the back of the guitar. It's a great idea, but it may affect the resale value if you decide to sell in a few years.

Mods?? I've never seen a single picture that I believed to be real of Jesus, JFK or any kaisers playing Les Pauls, not even Epi's. What do you say we put this one in bracelets?

Religious threads, particularly ones about Christianity, attract predators and scavangers, all in the name of debate. Its funny how its alright and even cheered by the masses when anti's bash on Christians, but don't let one Christian say anything about what the masses believe or you will get attacked.

To the OP, I feel for ya when this thread gets locked down. Hopefully you will find the etching that you are looking for.

Why do christians always feel the need to display their faith to everyone ?
And they're not even the "chosen people".

.
Well you asked.. Read Matthew:28 16-20 it tells of the great commission from Jesus to his followers, and if you believe Jesus Christ is the savior you are the chosen. The grafting in of the wild olive branch.

Seriously, can we shelve the religious discussion, take it to PM or reddit. This is about carving symbols into a guitar.
