Hi all,

Seller claims it is a purchase from Japan in the 70's. I like it but just have no idea if this is from Japan or just a Chinese knock-off? Any thoughts from the experts appreciated. I can't find anywhere that Japan actually branded their guitars as 'Gibson'?

That's a hard pass for me too unless it's extremely cheap and has some pickups or something you want.

.....says one of the most respected sources on MIJ.
I’d listen and say “thank you sir”.
You are too kind Pop. There are people here that make me look like a MIJ noob lol.

I would advise anyone to steer clear of these ones though. Save up your money, and get something good. You dont have to spend huge to get a good entry level mij single cut.

Can we even say its a counterfeit? If brought to court id argue its a parody because there is nothing right about it
Yes. They don't get off the hook because it is a bad copy. It a reasonable person standard and not a reasonable guitar geek standard.
