Any Les Paul Junior experts?

Hey all.

Anyone familiar with Juniors know what recent model year Les Paul Juniors had a chunkier neck profile, if any? Talking about the regular line here, not Custom shop or VOS. Most seem to have the slim tapers but I'm thinking that maybe the 2009 faded Juniors may have, but I'm just not sure.

Really appreciate any help.

Thanks

I just traded away a NOS 2008 Faded Junior. It had the chunky 50s neck. I think 2010 and up all have Slim Taper.

Came across a 2009 but got word from the seller after posting here that it had the slim taper.
Surprised me. I guess I'll keep my eyes out for an 08. Maybe they changed it in the later 09's. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Yeah, all the USA Juniors and Specials I've played had a slim neck. I own a Billie Joe Armstrong that, even though it's advertised as having a 60's carve, feels thicker. Still not chunky, though.

BTW, the ones on the RI line are HUGE. It's like playing a lamp post.

Why exclude Custom Shop models, because of the price? Asking prices are usually high but many don't sell for that much and you could grab one for below $1,500 with some patients. I bought a 2010 58 gloss model two years ago for $1,300 CDN. The USA Juniors I see for sale are typically asking over $800.

No kidding. :laugh2:
I love mine.

The more recent single-cut Custom Shop reissue Specials have the fattest necks even though Gibson seems to call both the single and the double-cuts a 60's model. The double cut Specials feel pretty slim in comparison.

The one I played was a DC Junior in Tv White, my guess is it was from the mid, late 2000's. I can't even imagine a fatter neck than the one that one had :)
