I’m trading in a couple of my guitars for a Gibson Les Paul, because I’ve been wanting one forever and this is what I found, it seems pretty legit only he replaced the pickups with emgs, I don’t care if it’s all original but it’s “ehh” anyway what do y’all think about it.

His price may be about right but what are you trading for it? I personally don’t like Studios, not enough bling for me. That board is also very light, looks like grenadillo but I don’t think they used that until 2013. Are you sure about that date? What’s the serial number?

I’m not sure but to be honest I just want a Gibson Les Paul, I have for a while and I really don’t care if the parts aren’t original or replaced, in fact I’m kinda in to that kinda stuff because it makes an instrument more unique, I’m assuming he atleast meant the body or something is from 1998, as long as it’s not a chibson it doesn’t really bother me

I think that the radius of the back edge is rounder like a '98..... 2012 or later (that would have a different species fretboard) would have a sharper less rounded edge. But you are right that board does look funky,... maybe just lighting.

What's the mystery? Late '90s Les Paul Studio. What am I not getting here?

This is another one on reverb and I guess the fretboard is just brighter by choice on this model I think the only thing modded is the pickups

This is another one of the same model on reverb for a lot more (he mentions he’s selling it for a lot less cus it’s modded, has wears and tears and is very used)

studios are great deals...that looks legit and price is good

what were you trading in?

never tried any EMGs but you could sell those off if you didnt like em and pick up an assortment of humbucks depending what you wanted to spend...add a few bucks from selling the EMGs and your good to go

You are getting it. He asked what we think about it. We just want to know what he’s trading for it.

Fair enough lol

I guess that was pretty harsh. What I really meant was that for my taste there are better colors out there that are just as affordable, and with darker fret boards, which I prefer.

That's the first time I've seen a Studio with a dot fretboard. I think you could get a nicer example with the traditional inlays on the board.

Wine Red looks really great on the Studio's, because the colour is able make up for the lack of binding. I've owned two Wine Red Studio's and I thought they looked really great. Also it looks good with either nickel or gold hardware on.

If you go onto some of the guitars for sale groups on Facebook, you should be able to get a trade deal for a Gibson Les Paul. I've managed to do a trade with someone on eBay, so if you see one on there, it's worth a try asking if they would be interested in doing a deal.
