Couple weeks ago I picked up a 76 SG standard in White.

My homeboy at the same time picked up an 81 Sonex 180D in white and didnt bond with it. He neededs some stuff i just happened to have and wasnt putting to use. So we did a lil horsetrading and now I have it. Lucky me. These things are always excellent. Ive played them on and off for years. Still got a black 180 Custom my buddy uses. Cant say enough about the value of these workhorses.

One of my best buds, when we were kids, had a black Sonex and we thought that thing was awesome.

Looks like a pair of Velvet Bricks in there too! :dude:

As a fan of Tim Shaw and his work, I say good on you!

They have an even more limited run and scope than the regular Shaws, so you have a rather unique slice of history there.

EDIT: If you ever get the wim, you could swap the pickups between the SG and the Sonex....

I'll bet it would kick a$$...

The SG back in the day came with a brick in the bridge for some extra ooomph...

That's a nice SG. As for the Sonex, no thanks. IMO, they're certainly OK but there are many, many other guitars I would go to first before using a Sonex.
