The Celebration Day release shows that they can still put on an incredible show. They would be able to sell out a venue aged 90 with zimmer frames and dialysis machines on stage... and for good reason too.

Yes it's not the halcyon days of 40+ years ago but for a lot of people that doesn't matter.

Do you want to see that? I kind of look at it like old-timer baseball players...I don't really want to see then out there trying to play, but it would be nice hanging with them and here them talk stories. Maybe even a mellower acoustic-based set. But not the big rock pieces they used to do.

Well, they should hunker down and play a few nights in one place. Rest and move on.

There's no reason for them to tour like idiots and they can dictate terms. I mean, like EK in the 70's, some people would come just to see the crash. The demand is there.

Back on track:The red deluxe is the only one left to RI right?

Hey! I'm an old guy, and I still watch my wife #$@& me.

Well...... I watch her, funny how her eyes are closed all the time......:wow:

But anyway I'm going IF they come to my city Which they won't....They'll go to Toronto, or Chicago....now that I think of it they will probably do 4 to 6 cities in the US and not one of em will be anywhere near me!

I had tickets in my hand...Literally in 1980 when my neighbor yelled over to me to put on the radio......Bonham was dead. I was just showing those golden tickets off to a buddy of mine. They were in my hands, I will never forget that moment. My mom made me return them for the money! If I had a choice I would still have them. Get this, they were $12.50.....

Yeah, me being in Jacksonville, FL I know I'll be driving to Atlanta or Miami for this imaginary Led Zep tour. Closest I came to seeing JPP was the Page Crowes tour in Tampa.....cancelled because of Page's back. Huge bummer.

I saw the 60 minutes interview, and i think you are reading too much into "Percy's
well documented cryptic and dry sense of humour.:wow:
He called the other two ( Jimmy, J.P.J ) " Capricorns".:laugh2:
He has always made these type of comments over the years, even when he was with Zep.:naughty:
I have no doubt that he does not want to do a full scale tour under the Zeppelin banner.
Sadly, i think they are too old to pull it off consistantly anyway : (
Also,Roberts voice is about 2 octaves lower now and Jimmy's strings would almost fall of number 1 to accomodate him.:laugh2:
Was a great interview though.:applause:

I'm in .... studio album / tour ... :thumb:

It would be fun to see them live again ... :naughty:
I wouldn't be comparing them to their golden-era though .

I'm into reality , and it ain't all "that" bad ,
considering the "fillers" out there these days .

If they cannot maintain their level of quality for an entire tour they should do an album and just not tour to support it. I mean come on, Steely Dan did that for years and it never hurt them! Zeppelin proved at the O2 show that, even after 30 years of not playing together live, they were still one of the best, if not the best, live group in the world. If they can write some great music and put out a great album, even without touring in support of it, that would just prove that they are still the best and then they can leave the O2 show and the album as the caps on their legacy.

Hey, if you don't like it, don't go.

Comparing live music performance to playing baseball, or any other athletic endeavor? Hello?

If you don't go, they won't miss you. Shows'd sell out before you could get on line to try and buy a ticket.

In the last two years I've seen Bonnie Raitt, Edgar Winter, Mavis Staples, Buddy Guy, and Steve Miller. They're all old, all sold out, and they all kicked ass.

Agree with river (hey twice in a month!), if they sit down in rocking chairs and play, people will go watch. I would go and watch. It is a chance to see history....even if it is a little less than it was. I saw Robert Plant in 1986 and it was great. Saw him again in 1989, still very good. Like River, have been going down a catalogue of bands from my youth (although I was into music that was a bit before my time): Styx, Kansas, Rush (I have seen them 7-8x since I was 14), Blue Oyster Cult, Paul Rogers.....all very good concerts.

How profound. And I actually was planning on buying tickets to shows I wouldn't want to see, too. Thanks for the intervention. :dude:

Like I said I kinda' feel like the should do a more acoustic show or the like. Big part of me just wouldn't want to see/hear them like the Stones are these days. I wouldn't tell them not to play if they want to, but I would probably advise to not like they used to.

And watch, if they did, Page would be playing his PRS the whole time. :D

'Zactly.

I had my name in the lottery for the '07 concert. I'll have my name in for the next chance, should it come to pass. Especially since my brother got me the DVD/CD box set of the '07 show for Christmas. They delivered.

They're not John Elway, Terrell Davis, and Johnny Unitas - they're Led Zeppelin.

I had seen Bonnie Raitt, Edgar Winter, and Buddy Guy when they were young. They haven't lost anything. Bonnie is, without a doubt, better with age. Her voice has aged like a fine single-malt. Steve Miller plays his hits, but is more true to his roots and less ego-centric. Fine shows from the lot of 'em.

If they do tour and people don't want to see them that's fine, it'll be hard enough as it is for me to get tickets.

My pleasure.

I just don't understand your motivation for being a wet blanket on a subject you could just as easily ignore. :hmm:

What is Jason Bonham up to these days...and wasn't JPJ basically shut out of whatever they did last? He's kinda' important to that whole thing too, IMO.
