I was little scared since I didn't glue top with hide glue before, neck and headstock were little easier. But everything went fine, thanks to my wife. You see the cinderblock on the left, I put the body on the top, and right after I aplied the glue my wife stepped on it, and I had easy job to do. :naughty:

Little update.

Printed inlays on foil and transfered to sheet.

Checking accuracy, looking good.:thumb:

I used drill sander to create the right radiuses

The inlays look better on dark fretborad, so I'm sending the brighter one back - I don't like it.
Cheers

Where did you get those neck plans may I ask?

Ohh thank you! I keep hearing about these mythical Bartlett plans... it is obvious to me now that I must purchase a copy. Reaching for my credit card now and i've never been more excited for an online purchase.

P.s Nuance, i saw your build thread, holy cow, 6 builds at the same time. That was incredibly inspiring and you have such clean work.

Hi, good fellas. After plying this guitar, or just looking at her (will explain later) some doubts raised in my hart. Should I redo it?, why? - IT'S HEAVY, and I mean heavy -15lb!!!. It's going to be lot of work include refinishing rebinding top and neck removal, weight relief etc. to put her on a diet. It's going to be a new experience and the guitar may ends in my fireplace. Since is only replica I have nothing to lose beside my pride.

This seems like a silly idea. The amount of work needed and $$ is practically the same as another build.

Why not sort out something like some Korina - I don't know how on earth you got a 15lb guitar as I've never come across wood that heavy ever - but I got a full solid body at 9lbs 2oz with korina for body and neck.
And maybe a different colour for the burst. And different flavour of pickups. That way you'd have 2 great guitars.

First I'd see if any of my buddies wanted to buy it, because as ARandall has said, you'll probably spend
just as much re-building it as you would building another one. If someone does want to purchase it, at
least you have positive monies to apply toward the next one.

I completely rebuilt a guitar I made that was too heavy for me, it's now semi chambered and weighs 7.8lb
It was only just over 9lb to start and it sounds bloody good to me even with the diet
