Country music used to be the tale of the common man.

Stuff like this:

In the 90's you could still come across a lot of talent:

What is it now? Rap with a banjo? Auto tuned "street" shit?

And the stuff that does actually pretend to be country are full of the same seven patented hooks written by the same seven fools in Nashville.

Everything sucks. Bah.

I was out for a friend's birthday last night. Probably from 7pm till 11pm. Full internet juke box. 100s of thousands of songs...

Heard Tennessee Whiskey 3 times in that span. It's just not acceptable

I’m just grateful we have recordings of good music, I’ll never discount the amount of talent out there because there a shitload of it, but new country sucks, just sucks.

Protools destroyed music. Well, not the program, the assholes using it. There's like 10 producers, using the same samples, everything snapped to the grid and autotuned pretty people on the record cover is all the big "entertainment" companies care about selling. They can churn it out and sell the same crap over and over. Ugly people make better music

I tend to like my Country a little different. Les Pauls instead of Telecasters. A bit of irreverence and at times more than three chords.
That's no joke. I remember reading an article in a mid-late 1970s(?) Guitar Player, it was an interview with the guitar player in Merle Haggard's band. Played a bone stock wine red LP Custom. Used a lot of chromatics in his solos. Can't remember his name.

Maybe don't stay at a hotel next to a Jason Aldean concert...
