Cool!!:thumb: I have a Special in the works and I've been looking for the plans for the p90 and, neck rout. I've searched for hours with no luck. All I keep coming up with is DC JR plans. Could you give me a hint as to where I could buy them?:fingersx:

Thanks,
Ken

I don't have any plan. I build on feel and with help by pictures. I'm also searching for the measures of the distance of the pickups and the and depth of the cavities.

That's kinda the way I'm going at it myself. Thanks for the response.

that is super super cool. May I just ask what are those black "glue" on the headstock?

I found some info that will help! According to Montruex, they sell a pickguard for vintage LP Specials. They also have measurements posted for the pickguard. Here's the link. http://www.montreuxguitars.com/products/template/timemachine/56_lps_pg.gif

Thank you! :applause:

That link helped me a lot. I'm currently working on a pick guard from that drawing. Pics soon!

This thread is insane.

In what way?

I use clear epoxy and put a drip of black in it.

...curious about the progress on "The Woman in Red"? :naughty: Did you wash all the paint off or was it just the top that got cleaned up?

I washed the top, not the body. The color is much better now than before, all though it's a little darker than 9 0875 but as it's Anilne it will fade sooner or later. But this guitar has to stay away from the sun or UV lights as I don't want it to fade too much.

I'm currently installing the electronics in it so in a couple of days I'll take some pics :)

Next step is to drill for the bridge studs on the red then it's ready for a sound test.

Here are two pictures shot with flash. Bad quality, off colors, but better than nothing. I will bring up better pictures when they s are all done.

The three on the left are the ones I'm currently working on. Upper far left, a 59 replica, middle 60 replica and then the red beauty. The one on the right in the second picture is my previous build from last summer.

beautiful work man. As soon as you can get some daylight pictures with no flash. Very impressive builds my man!

:applause::applause:It looks great Lars and just like the original. Subtle flame under the red and even the pups look authentic. Are you going to buff the headstock so that the silk screen "Les Paul Model" dissapears or is that taking it one step too far in terms of acuracy. :hmm: It sure looks better with it on IMO.

The screen print has dried and I will probably wipe off most of the logo, I tried it on a test piece and the look is more of a qhost print when wiped off, the logo is gone but the etch is still there in the laquer. We'll see :)

That red Les Paul is amazing! They are all quite beautiful, but that red one is real luscious.
