Never argue with a woman, for the simple reason, you'll never win. They have memories like elephants and will instantly bring up something you did wrong twenty years ago, so you end up wondering what you were arguing about in the first place.
Women would rather be right than reasonable.
The safest way out is to pretend you are listening.. Keep agreeing, go out and buy a large box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers, because they are about the only two things that will placate them.
A simple remedy, but highly effective.:laugh2:

P.S.. And don't forget to say sorry, even if you don't know what you are sorry about.

What is the point in spending years learning this instrument and thousands of $$££ accumulating gear if occasionally you can't have a blow out and fuck off the neighbourhood??? It's our birthright for heavens sake!

I have taken great personal delight in reducing a neighbour (a c**t, incidently) many years ago to tears, snot and skinned knuckles from banging on my door as I played at full volume from within. :naughty::naughty:

being right or wrong in this case is irrelevant. you do owe your wife an apology as has been stated but you are both looking at it wrong.

you both have needs. and you should explain to her that playing is a need. and it needs to be met. she has needs too and they need to be met. the only solution that will ever be acceptable in this case is one that allows you both to have your needs met. so instead of putting your needs before hers, or hers before yours, find a solution that will allow you both to have your needs met.

headphones on electric guitar aren't that bad. i have often played with them and i use them for recording a lot so it's something i'm used to and you can get used to it too if you wanted to. or there are other solutions like jamming in a different location.

anyway good luck. i know what it's like to not have needs met.
