What do you make of this 50's Custom?

1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom | eBay

The partial serial number looks unusual. The black finish behind the "62" looks like a different color (darker, blacker) than the rest of the black around it.

Looks to me like the tip of the headstock was sanded on the treble side above the G tuner, the last two digits of the serial number "62" was taped off, headstock sprayed, then the tape removed.

Way overpriced with serial number foolishness... Worth around 18K tops with that overspray , serial number issue. Probably stolen at some point ,who knows?:slash:
