Ok,so as some of you know I was planning on a shop build to show you guys what me and my partner can do, so we asked what you guys wanted to see as a build. So it came down to L5,es 150,goldtop w/p90s and a 52/59 conversion style build with a three peice top..now yesterday I received an email from someone seeing one of our other 59s we built for his friend and asked us to see if we could build him one. So sense their was two votes for a 52 goldtop I thought we would do both the 59 and the other at the same time. now I'm still up in the air on which one to build, so this time I included a poll see what you, the viewer wanted to see. would you'd rather see, either a v.o.s 52 replica or 52/59 replica burst.

So for the 59 burst plan for our client, its going to be a stewmac/catto build, stew mac for the neck and catto for the body. Now I said almost in the title because their is one thing he wants different which it a coco fretboard but besides that he's wants it correct using all the vintage materials.

And now for the other build. if its a gold top then its plane and simple, just going to use the catto plans with the suttle differences the comes from the early models but plan on still keeping it v.o.s correct

Now if you guys want the 52/59 conversion I plan on getting super detailed routing first for p90s and then for humbuckers and every other detail that comes with converting one to a 59

So hopefully we will be starting soon in the next couple days

Already received the holy veneer, started making the headstock logo which is our name in gibson font :)

Cut out the holly using a razor, left the end alittle bit long then needed to in sure that the nut will fit snug. Its funny in the photo the holly looks flamed but when you look at it in person you can't see it. I wonder if there is such a thing as figured holly,I mean prs claims the reason trees are figured is caused by stress so theoretically its possible

Today I started to make new templates, before I had basic 1/4 particle board ones but those were flimsey, so today I went to a local printing shop with the catto plans on a flash drive, and bought 6 plans for a whopping $4.50. I plan on using four as the main routes one for the angle for the cavity and the last one, well the last is for a wall poster because when I love the les pauls all les pauls, I have les paul tattoos, my wife thinks I would leave her for one...well if it was the right one then maybe ;)

Today received the inlays and fretboards. Cut the scale length to 24.562 and started to route the fretboard for the inlays
