Hi all, I’m a newbie here. Just wanted to see if anyone can share their knowledge regarding an odd feature with my early 68 LPC.

It has all features of an early 68 including dotted ‘I’ and open ‘b & o’, long tenon, one piece neck, non T top pup’s, pots are Centralabs CBA-811 1053 6826 (engraved on side not bottom), black spagues and nylon bridge saddles. Serial number starts 516. The interesting feature I wanted to find out about is that the body is one piece mahogany with no maple cap (like a 50’s LPC). Has anyone heard of an all mahogany 68 LPC before? Photo’s attached.

Thanks and looking forward to your insights.

The routings are for a capped body and I also see the cap line on both cavity pics.

Hard to tell if the top it's hog or maple from the pics, but I'm pretty sure it has a cap..

thanks PierM. Your response prompted me to remove the neck pup and look again. i rubbed back the wood internally in a different place and indeed there is a maple cap.

Apologies for the false alarm!

Thanks
