Well yes there is noise, but not what I'm looking for.

I plugged in my lp this evening and was met with a buzz sound from my amp.

Checked amp with another guitar. Pass
Switched cables. Pass
Changed input jack. Pass
Checked and rechecked wiring for bad connections. Pass.

Suggestions?

Did you try all the pickup settings? Can you plug it into another playback device for testing? Have you changed anything on the guitar recently? Also try switching the pickup switch a few times to see if maybe the switch has become intermittent.

Hope this helps

No changes made to the guitar lately Lefty. Have diddled all the knobs and switch. I can just barely hear the guitar under the buzzing sound as well.

Wow that's very odd. Seems like something must have failed. Most likely something common to both pickups like the switch or output jack, and it sounds like you've ruled out the jack.

And of course I don't have another switch on hand to test that. :hmm:

Buy a fender and then you'll assume you are the source of all the noise in the universe.

EDIT: Open the switch cavity and spray some contact cleaner. Or look for broken ground.

I'd go with a broken ground too, especially if the buzz gets worse with the volumes turned right down.

I walked away from it for bit thinking it was the toggle switch. A quick look a few minutes ago revealed the ground wire had come loose. Fixed

Glad it's fixed - sorry, should have said ground as that's the other common connection...
