I guess it is not bad considering the economic climate...I just picked up a Fender Eric Clapton tribute for $8000 (it was $20000 when new)...

Yep, very true. I considered and passed on a mint Van Halen EVH Frankenstrat for 7500.00 that was 20-25K new.

No, it was 25,100.01:thumb:

Still insane price but I guess far more reasonable then asking anything above 40k.

There is another one going for 40k right now.

And that's not really new. the person who get this guitar is ths 2nd. owner.
Still it's a cool guitar with all the electronics and such. But the buyer needs to keep it for a while to see any "investment" return. The big ticket Sig guitars are more difficult to sell for top $ right now.:wow:

Well...hate to revive an old thread...but I guess the guitar didn't find a new home afterall...it is back on eBay!

There are only 25 Signed JP2 in the world and three of them are for sale...

Yet I can't find myself a JP2 VOS when there are 200 if them available! How ironic is that!

And free shipping. Now that's a deal. The $29K makes it all OK now!

Not only that. On January 9th 2014 the man will be 70. Three years after that will be the 10th anniversary of the 02 reunion show. I see several events coming up in the relatively near future that will make these guitars even more valuable.

I got to see one of these in person. In fact, I got to hold it and check the neck out, but only briefly. I was a little self conscious and didn't want to ask too much of the owner. I was getting a Plek when another customer came in with one of these and a Gibbons. It was such an awesome day checking those two out, some of the other guitars that the luthier owned, and also watching two Plek jobs take place.

FWIW - the owner had replaced the plastic. lol!

Hrmmm... I wonder if it was one of you guys? Probably not too many folks with a JP sig and a Gibbons, right?

Do any of you know where all the little dents came from that are below the tailpiece on JP's #2?
