Tim LIVE+R+RFezz here at my gateleg table. Finally I get to defend my HEAVYWEIGHT GARAGEROCK BELT. I thought I was toast. Fezz#3 folded in March 2012. We were just a duo. Drums+Guitar. We played 20 xs together. No gigs. No recordings. Several "comedy" vids at Jodi Kings Dude Ranch.

Then.............

BRrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiingggg

"Boozu. Fezz here. Practice?"
"So Sorry, Booked up for ETERNITY......Christenings,house parties......pap"

Yawwwwwwnnnnn. The Best guitarist in? THE WORLD. Is finished. Relegated to the bowels of guitar forums.

Out of nowhere....

BRrrrrrrrriiiiiiiinnnnnggggg

I'm at work. Who could this be? So many options.

"Yeah..."
"Johnny Hate. Lets jam brother"

Johnny Hate got me into the R+R game. I was a printer's helper. He was my co-worker. He and his brother,Chris Kickster, had a Sab cover band. I was diddling with my cheap Sg. I had just been BLACKBALLED from the Philly POets Society.....For crimes against poetry? They meant not kissing butt:laugh
2:

I would go over to Johnny's. He had a POWER trio. I watched them play. I wanted to DESTROY them. I like stiff competition. I practiced 6 hours a day. I got OK. I started my own POWER trio. Both bands= SpaceChrist= What a crap name and Old Fezziwig #1 rented a storage unit.

We hung up moldy carpets and PORNO. We loved and fought. Brother bands. I was belly-up after 17 months. DONE. An ancient 28.............in the 90's you were washed-up by your late 20's. Young bands were HUNGRY. Legions of 22 yr olds.

Johnny never stopped. SpaceChrist plowed on another 8 years:shock:They got a female singer. I told them the band will be split. Of course it happened. Jealousy. Johnny married the singer.....GREAT GAL.....They have a cover band. 4 piece. Mrs. Johnny on vocals. Johnny on bass+guitar=he does 2 sets. One guitar, then bassist takes over. Good coverband. Zep+Heart+Foos+

Back to the phone call. This was 4 months ago? Who knows?I live one ENDLESS day.

" I want to play bass"
"No more band. Boozu wants couple's parties...christenings...another drummer goes up in smoke"
"Too bad. I need an outlet. Covers are fun, but........"
"You play drums"

I always have people switch instruments. Boozu was my guitar tech. He was good enough on drums to get by.

This is all just myth-making. Little garagebands that could. You guys know who Fezz is due to ENDLESS PROMOTION. In reaity I'm unknown. I was unknown in my prime. This picnic today will be one of my biggest gigs=100 people. That is the REALITY........yaaaaaawwwwnnnn

I much prefer. Fezz #4 is the charm. A newly "sober" Johnny Hate will lead me to the PROMISED LAND........Fezz is the NEW BLACK KEYS........Yippppeeee.
People chanting FEZZ as I FUZZBOMB them.....Then.................... FUZZCULT........Seclusion....THE MANIFESTO..................Incredibe powers. Illusions......The New LAZARUS.............Why not DREAM big?

See what I mean? You can take over the world. One mind at a time. Finding little cracks. I will BRAINWASH several people today. I will first open their minds with music.......then they willl become DRUNK.......Then I plant seeds.......Stuff like that....MIND CONTROL

Fezz, while I doubt I could match your schizophrenically eloquent prose, you just described my 18 month "bandless" period.

for 10 years we just did it. Drummer explodes, replace him. Shitty show, play another 10 to wash the taste out. The whole experience was wearing me out more than I ever thought. When drummer number 4 came and went in 2009, I was done. Wrung out.
Put the twanger away and started riding bikes again.
Next thing you know, an open mic starts up a block away, we grow a drummer, rent a bass player and bang, here we go again.

Remind me again why we stayed at a house party until 3:00am to play 3 songs last night............

Maybe you should have grown the bass player and rented the drummer? If I'd done just that maybe my blues band wouldn't have broken up in April . . . ;)
