Hi I have recently acquired 2 Les Pauls a 2021 Translucent Cherry Classic and a 2020 Faded Pelham Blue Modern. I have a lot of strats and these Les Paul's guitars have impressed me. Playing for a long time but not that good. Taking lessons recently and enjoying myself. I do have a question on another guitar listed locally as a Classic. I don't think it is a classic but am new to LP's. Can you guys school me on this? He has one picture. I asked for more. The truss rod plate does not read classic like my 2021. Thoughts? He wants $1800

Also another one where the guy will take $800 but is a 2016 Custom Ebony. Fair Price?

toes in the picture are a vaild reason for a 25% reduction in offer price...

if its in MLP classifieds...an immediate $100 fine

:run:

dont rely upon truss rod covers...get serial number, pot codes if possible and try to confim first what the guitar really is...

MLP members are the best for all knowledge of Gibsons LPs and others...

welcome ...you came to the right place for answers!

Well he wanted $1,000 but will take $800 so he discounted it $200 already. When I get there I will request the $100 toe discount.

Here is the email for Gibson Customer Support.

If you send them the Serial Number, Top Color if you know it, and / or an image they should be able to lock down the Year and Model, and then you can hunt around to see the going used rate.

Welcome, and Good Luck! :fingersx:

Prices seem close to legit without knowing the details.

Went and looked at the Studio. 45 minute drive each way. Crack in the neck both sides along the fingerboard, noticeably moving out towards neck. One side more noticeable than the other. Told him where to take it for repair, probably could of offered him $400 and he would of taken it. Action was pretty high, don.t know if a truss rod adjustment would have solved the noticeable bow. I am done buying fixer uppers so I passed. The Silverburst guy, no response yet.

Is that a 2017-ish LP Classic silverburst with a blank TRC?

Odds are it never cost $1800 new. Classics didn’t exactly fly off the shelves. They usually sell cheaper than Standards or Trads around here— and take forever to sell.

And the finish is love/hate. If you like it, you like it. It is one of my least favorites.

If you are going to check it out, I’d pre-negotiate the price now. Then you can negotiate undisclosed issues when you show up. One photo is a red flag for me.

Sucks someone tried to pass off a cracked neck without mentioning anything.

That Silverburst Classic is going to shoot through the roof once Gibson releases the Adam Jones Standard.
