Hi all

Can anyone tell me anything about Acme guitars? I just won one along with a black Encore at auction and I haven't been able to find out any info online.

It looks to me like one of the usual 70s/80s bolt on copies which carried various different names...?

As Acme is drawing a blank and looking at the picture again the logo looks like it might have been painted on I'm wondering if this could be an Electra due to the switches by the T&V controls - I originally thought these must've been added by a previous owner but I've seen a few pictures of Electra LPs with a similar switches like the image attached. Collecting it on Friday so can have a better look then.

So the Acme logo is painted on by hand and it’s now evident the modifications were carried out by a previous owner so I don’t think it’s an Electra. Interestingly it has these pickups marked TWB-20.

It's interesting both pickup routes were done differently.

I didn’t see that, maybe whoever modded it hacked away at the neck cavity for some reason?

So it’s an unbranded plywood copy which has an open book headstock and 3 screw bell shaped truss rod cover - if anyone has any idea if that narrows down the manufacturer I’d love to know!

I think someone else either added the neck pickup cavity or altered it.

The guitar is probably either MIC or MIK.
