Moved the thread to a more appropriate location...left an expiring redirect in the LP section.

I've been streaming the album and listened to it three times. It does not disappoint!

I've been listening to the sound clips out there, and now the streaming previews. This is the real deal; there is some great songwriting and playing going on here. It feels familiar, but at the same time, he's showing some some real growth on many levels here. I hope this thing sells a ton for him; he's due for some recognition as a serious musician. :dude:

No matter how good it may turn out to be, unfortunately, it won't sell many copies, because the general public is not interested in Ace the musician without his spaceman makeup and Gene, Paul and Peter.

Fair enough, but by the same token the rolling tribute band show that Gene and Paul continue to flog seems to sell ok. I hope that there's enough old school die-hards from back in the day support this disc.

Anomaly seems to be getting a lot more marketing attention (now that Ace is releasing this pretty much on his own, and partnering with a distribution company) than anything he ever put out on Megaforce in the 80's, so maybe this time people will actually KNOW that he put some new music out there. :laugh2:

When it comes to KISS, I know I shouldn't like them still, at my age of 51, but darn it, I still get a kick out of the whole masquerading mess! I love watching them on VH1C!
I hope Ace sells a bunch of albums, but 'diehards' are KISS-with-makeup fans, not fans of the four individual guys.

We'll see, dennis....he does have a hard-core following from his "last" band. If people are willing to continue to pay Gene and Paul to rip it up with a couple of stand-ins year after year, they may be willing to kick in $15 bucks to see what Ace is up to after 20 years.

This disc actually does have a marketing plan; distinct packaging for Best-Buy and WalMart, and a standard package. I hope that the mere fact that people shopping these stores will see that he has a new album will push this along. Never mind the fact that the tunes are really good.

I gave a listen yesterday; it starts off good, but it gets kind of dull towards the ending. Nevertheless, I'll sure play it again soon, overall it's a great album!

Dennis is right, for me (a diehard fan from the 70s) Kiss is the four in makeup not the individuals.

Paul Stanley released a kick ass solo album a couple of years ago, a concert dvd and cd as well.

Ace is the reason I play guitar so I will get the disc out of loyalty, and I have been following it and like what I hear, I will also get the new Kiss album in October as well.

Some of it is good, some of it not so good. I really like the instrumentals and also like Foxy & Free and Fox on the Run.

Here's an interview with Ace that the lead singer (Ginger) of The Wildhearts did with him last week some time. Ginger is a huge Ace/Kiss fan and I think this was a dream come true for him to be able to interview Ace. I thought you Ace fans might like to see it. :)

I got my copy of it today, first time I can remember buying a CD on the release day, it rocks! I love his tone and playing on it... sounds amazing! Can't wait to have some more time to really give it a good listen.

I bought it today, but have half the songs memorized already from listening to the VH1 Leak over the past 7 days. I think it's some of his best work ever. It'll be interesting to see how this cd will be received; it is pretty diverse.

I am giving it a first listen right now, I like the guitar work but as usual Ace's lyric writing ability isn't amazing, too many drugs over the years.

Fox on the Run is ambitious, just because Sweet's version is pretty hard to top.

I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics either, but I'm very surprised at how well some of these songs were put together. I think a lot of ideas on this cd are ambitious. These aren't even close to some of the stuff he put out in the 80's.
